Cookie Policy
Visit Ugljan places no cookies on your device until you say yes. Fonts and scripts come from our own server, so no third party receives a request from your browser before you choose. Only the "Accept everything" button switches on Google Analytics, which then sets two cookies. Every other choice keeps the site cookie-free.
What do the three banner buttons do?
The banner offers three choices, and each one is remembered so it does not pop up on every page.
- Accept everything loads Google Analytics, which sets its measurement cookies.
- Only essential keeps the site running without analytics. Pressing the Escape key while the banner is open counts as this choice.
- Decline also keeps analytics off.
"Only essential" and "Decline" have the same effect today, because the public site uses no cookies that it needs to function.
Where is your choice stored?
Your choice sits in your browser's local storage under the name dv_consent, with the value all, essential or reject. Local storage is not a cookie. Nothing in it is sent to our server, it has no expiry date, and it stays until you clear your browser data. After that, the banner simply asks again.
Which cookies does Google Analytics set?
After "Accept everything", Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-40R79BRBB6) sets two first-party cookies on this domain.
| Cookie | Purpose | Default lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| _ga | Analytics, measuring how the site is used | 2 years |
| _ga_ followed by a code for this site | Analytics, measuring how the site is used | 2 years |
Google publishes these purposes and lifetimes in its own cookie reference (Source: Google, advertising and measurement cookies, accessed 2026-10-12). We have not changed the defaults. The measurement data goes to Google and is not anonymised, as the privacy policy explains.
How do you change your choice?
Click "Cookie preferences" in the footer of any page and the banner opens again. If you switch from "Accept everything" to "Only essential" or "Decline", the site stops Google Analytics and deletes the _ga cookies from your browser straight away. Clearing your browser data has the same result and resets your stored choice too.
Does the site use any other cookies?
No. Apart from the two Google Analytics cookies above, which only appear after "Accept everything", the public site sets no cookies at all.
